maintaining full-time benefits.Key Responsibilities:
- Support solid state characterization and method development,
validation and execution for pharmaceutical materials across the
discovery and development pipeline.
- Use state-of-the-art technologies to support early and late
stage pharmaceutical development with a variety of techniques
including X-ray powder diffraction, differential scanning
calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic light scattering,
surface area measurement and SEM among others while onsite at a
pharmaceutical client site.
- Generate physicochemical characterization data to support
chemical and pharmaceutical process development as well as release
and stability of drug substance and drug product.
- Generate physical form and physical characterization data for
release and stability under GMP.
- Manage sample receipt and document results according to the
customer's procedures.Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry,
Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular
Biology or similar.
- Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge,
skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+
years).
- OR Masters degree.In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of
a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly
related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual
to meet the requirements of the role.Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:
- Experience with analytical instrumentation used in the
pharmaceutical industry (2+ years) - specifically for solid state
characterization such as XRPD, ssNMR, IR, Raman, SEM, DSC, TGA,
surface area by BET and particle size by laser diffraction.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of general chemistry and
solid state or physical chemistry.
- Ability to understand and independently apply GMPs and/or GLPs
to everyday work with regard to documentation and instrument
use.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to perform
tasks.
- Ability to independently optimize analytical methods.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Time management and project management skills.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a
